The Carolina Animal Modified Series is proud to announce TARHEEL SPEEDWAY , Tarheel N.C. as the host track for all 8 events of the CAMS .
1) Who would be interested in an 8 race series for WKA Legal Animal Modified to be run the 2nd half of the "09" season?
2) 6 kart minimum for all 8 events.
3) All races will obey the host track rules and pay host track at gate, including insurance. ( If track heat races then we heat race, if they time trial, we time trial ) If mufflers are required, we roll with it, if not we scream with it.
4) We will have a Secretary ( Points and Stats.)
5) We will have a Treasurer ( Entry Fees and Payouts, also holder of all funds till the Banquet )
6) We will have a Director ( Handles all affairs of the CAMS league with the track and the racers )
7) All entry fees are $50.00 to be given to the Treasurer before each event.
8) Chassis and Motor are under WKA's 2009 rules.
9) Open tire. Min. Weight 375 lbs Drivers must be 18 years of age, sorry.
10) Only body rules are 44" wide max, 26" max. height from ground, body can't pass the rear bumper nuts and bolt, max. Factory stock body's will work just fine. No body required if desired. 4 #'s on the kart either way.
No metallic body panels ( except body frame work ) Pop rivets and double nuts on button cap bolts are permitted. A min. of 1 inch clearance around seat area is recommented.
This is to encourage racers to find speed in other areas. All bumpers are to be in place. This includes the nerf bars. Rear bumper may be full width, not to exceed 44 inches.
Safety is top priority on these modified bodies or you will not enter the track, think of your competitors and yourself as well as your family. Just think of a worst case scenario for all involved. The Director or track tech will tech all body work.
11) All sponsorships for the CAMS league go to the Treasurer, to be added to top five payouts at the banquet. The banquet will be held within 30 days of the last event.
12) In theory, this is the format for the CAM Series, if the 6 kart min. is met at each of the 8 events. ( no drops) The treasurer will collect 6 x $50.00 = $300.00 per event to deposit in the points fund. No winner payout if 6 or less enter, winner earns anything over 6 entries For example: 10 karts x $50.00 = $500.00. $300.00 will go in the points fund; $200.00 will go the winner of that event. The object is to keep a good field of Animal Modified's for each event through out the 8 race series. 8 races with 6 kart min. met will be 8 x $ 300.00 = $ 2400.00 If sponsors pitch in during the season, this will be applied to season end points fund, Remember, nobody is making a dime but the racers. I'm working on getting 8 sponsorships for $ 300.00 each, one per race. If it works out, the winner of each event will receive $ 150.00, 2nd place: $ 100.00 and 3rd place: $ 50.00. These earnings will be included with any payout over the 6 kart min. per event. Each sponsor will provide 2 banners representing their business interest that will be displayed during all events run with this series.
If worst comes to worst and things just don't work out, as far as participation in the series, then I will have to cancel it all by April 15, 2009. I want this to be FAIR, FUN, and FAST

Tarheel Speedway wants to make the announcement, and I am looking forward to working with these folks. I personally think this is the perfect place to start the inaugural season of CAMS . After the announcement by the track, I can start trying to find some supporting sponsors and some committed teams to give it a whirl. I want any and all sponsors to be proud to be a part of this series, as well as the racers.
Thanks for all the suggestions and keep them coming.
Got a call today from a promoter , who voluntary offered to sponsor the pole awards or maybe the hard charger awards for all 8 events, cool deal.
More details on this later.
If anyone is interested in being a sponsor for an event ( $300.00 and 2 banners ) of this 8 race series,
I can be contacted by private message or e-mail at barleycornjct@embarqmail.com.
I am open to any feedback or responses. This is for the racers by the racers, if this works this year, we will add Champ Animal Modified's to the line up, with the same format next year.
Thanks for your time and looking forward to your suggestions.
